Pregnancy Preparation
It is best to start preparing your body for pregnancy 3-6 months before you are ready to conceive. Pre-conception work includes addressing nutrient and mineral deficiencies, making dietary/lifestyle changes, and starting a prenatal vitamin to ensure you have nutrient stores for a healthy pregnancy.
Did you know that the neural tube is completely formed 28 days after conception? Deficiencies of vitamins and minerals like folate and iron can affect the development of the neural tube and potentially cause defects, which is why it is recommended that any woman of child bearing age that has the potential to become pregnant takes folic acid daily. Often times, the neural tube will be closed before a woman finds out that she is even pregnant which supports the recommendation to start a prenatal pre-conception.
The food you eat, the timing of meals, and sleep patterns all have a huge impact on your hormones. If you are wanting to boost fertility or optimize your health pre-conception to set yourself up for a successful pregnancy, this plan is for you.
Postpartum Care
Pregnancy and birth can leave our bodies exhausted and depleted. In some cases, women may be depleted of essential vitamins and minerals for up to 7 years after delivery! The fourth trimester can be mentally, physically, and emotionally taxing. Not only has your body undergone the biggest hormone shift of your lifetime, but it is trying to heal while under intense demands from a newborn. Often, women receive one postpartum visit by their OB at the 6 week mark and then are sent on their way leaving them feeling lost, unstable, unlike themselves, and anxious or depressed about being able to provide for their baby.
If you are struggling or are preemptively seeking support through the postpartum period, this program is for you. Let me help you restore balance and recover so that you can show up and be your best self for your baby.
Prenatal Support
Exhaustion, morning sickness, anemia, iron-deficiency, food aversions, swelling, high blood pressure, dehydration, syncope, high blood sugar, congestion, muscle cramps, sciatic pain, headaches… isn’t pregnancy glamorous? Growing a human is the biggest blessing, but it’s NOT easy and lack of support and education makes it much harder.
I spent my whole first pregnancy on Google. “Is this normal?” “Foods to eat in pregnancy” “Foods to avoid in pregnancy” I downloaded the apps and read what to expect week by week, but there is so much conflicting information out there that it can be difficult to navigate what is “safe” and what isn’t, let alone what is actually beneficial versus what is a gimmick.
My prenatal support program is for any pregnant mama that is looking for help figuring out what to eat, what supplements to take, or how to manage pregnancy symptoms. Your protocol is customized to you and your goals for your pregnancy journey.
Lactation Support
Breastfeeding is not always an easy and natural process. If you are struggling to breastfeed, you are not alone. Let’s talk about foods, supplements, and practices to increase milk supply.
Note: I am not a IBCLC. I’m an NTP, so my recommendations are coming from the lens of addressing nutritional deficiencies and dietary depletions.
